Dashboard Warning Lights: Time for GMC Service?

Brake System Warning Light

The Brake System Warning Light is a red icon that says “BRAKE”. This light will flash on every time you turn your vehicle on, but if it stays on, you have an issue with your brakes or your brake fluid is low. If the light is illuminated, driving your vehicle is unsafe, and you need brake service ASAP.

Antilock Brake System Warning Light

If you see a light illuminated that reads “ABS” with a circle and parentheses around it, that’s your Antilock Brake System (ABS). If the light comes on when you’re driving, that means your system is having issues. You need to schedule service for your vehicle as soon as you can.

Tire Pressure Light

The Tire Pressure Light resembles the silhouette of a tire with an exclamation point inside it. If the light is on, one or more of your tires have low pressure or your monitoring system may have issues. If your pressure is consistently low, it may be time to order new GMC tires.

Check Engine Light

If you see a silhouette of an engine illuminated, that’s your Check Engine Light. This light can indicate many problems with your engine or propulsion system. This problem needs to be diagnosed with a special diagnostic tool, so you’ll need to bring your vehicle by our service center.

Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light

If your Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light is on, your vehicle is overheated. This light resembles a thermometer and looks to have waves below it. If yours is on, it isn’t safe to drive your vehicle, so you should pull over immediately. You may need to have your vehicle towed to our service center.
