GM Responds to Los Angeles Wildfires

February 10th, 2025 by

Like you, the team at Matt Nimey GMC is heartbroken by the devastation caused by the wildfires that tore through the Los Angeles area. Although the rebuilding road will be long and arduous, we’re proud to announce that General Motors has launched multiple initiatives to assist. Here’s what GM is doing to support our loved ones in Southern California.

Efforts to Support Wildfire Victims

GM is actively supporting its employees, customers, and the rest of the Los Angeles-area community in a variety of ways, including:

  • Deploying three Hydrotec® mobile charging units, three Yoshi Mobility charging trailers, and one InCharge Energy mobile charging station to the area
  • Planning corporate financial contributions
  • Encouraging employee giving campaigns to the American Red Cross and the California Fire Foundation
  • Offering vehicles to the American Red Cross
  • Providing complimentary Crisis Assist Services through the OnStar® system
  • Expediting the transportation of parts and components to repair damaged vehicles

There are also ways for GM vehicle owners to save money if they’ve been directly affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, such as:

  • Financial assistance for buying or leasing a new vehicle for GM autos severely damaged or entirely destroyed in the disaster
  • Zero-deductible collision repairs for damage that occurred as a direct result of the wildfires
  • Payment deferments for existing leases and loans

It’s important to keep in mind that not everyone will be eligible for these financial aid efforts, as specific qualifications and restrictions will apply.
